Hi, I’m Jess!
After 11 amazing years teaching kindergarten and first grade, I turned my passion for early childhood education into something new – becoming a small business owner. With a master’s degree in early childhood education and years of classroom experience, I’ve always loved creating hands-on learning opportunities for kids.
In 2020, I launched Back to Basics Kids, where I design simple, versatile learning tools that spark creativity and curiosity in children. One of our most-loved creations is the Wonder Disc – a portable, interactive toy that’s perfect for learning and play at home or on the go.
Now a mom of three, I use what I’ve learned as a teacher every day, from supporting my own kids’ growth to running my small business. Whether it’s helping families navigate learning or crafting products that make playtime magical, I’m passionate about making learning fun, accessible, and meaningful.
I’m based in Maryland, where I live with my family and continue to find joy in fostering creativity and a love of discovery – one Wonder Disc at a time!
